The Monthly Mardle
Keith Skipper鈥檚 popular "monthly mardle" with Matthew Gudgin on 91热爆 Radio Norfolk鈥檚 Teatime Show is moving from Tuesday to a new Wednesday slot from 6 to 7pm.
Skip will share his views and yarns on a different local topic each month but still find room for favourite songs and tunes. 聽He kicks off the new series on Wednesday February 4th, with a spotlight on getting to school... especially when bad weather makes it hazardous going.
Who can recall adventures from the 鈥減roper鈥 winters of 1947 and 1963? Are schools too hasty these days in closing classrooms as soon as there鈥檚 snow about? 聽How far did you have to walk in them good old days? Could you write with frozen fingers? Did you take any exciting diversions?

鈥淚 didn鈥檛 live far from our village school and could stroll there and back with few problems in any weather. But there were some big challenges in winter as I biked to catch the train at Fransham for seven glorious years at Hamond鈥檚 Grammar School in Swaffham,鈥 says Keith.
Mind you, the day he spent in the Fransham railway station toilet had nothing to do with snow, rain, wind or a nasty attack of suffin gorn abowt...
