Gloucestershire's hospitals
Mark Cummings talks to Dr Frank Harsent
It's been dominating the headlines - and our lives - recently - and this week we've been behind the scenes of the NHS - looking at how it works...and how staff have coped with the immense strain on the system.....
A major incident at the county's 2 main hospitals which lasted 11 days, extra beds made available to cope with the pressure, double the workload for the team responsible for discharging people....and the busiest ever day for the out of hours GP service.
That's been the reality for Gloucestershire's Health Service in the past few weeks - and this week we've looked at the care for people at home, the role of the GP and Pharmacy, the community hospitals and the struggles training and recruiting staff.
Today we turn our attention to where this all started - the acute hospitals - and talk to Dr Frank Harsent is the Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
