Kaiser Wilhelm II descendant on "guilt" of WWI
Prince Philip Kiril of Prussia told John Humphrys how he seeks forgiveness for the role his great great grandfather, Kaiser Wilhelm II, played in taking Germany into WWI.
Prince Philip, who also happens to be a descendant of Queen Victoria said "There is much guilt on the German side and on the side of my great great grandfather".
"On a spiritual level it's said in the ten commandments that God will track down the sins in the third and fourth generation...nobody could argue there is much guilt on our side".
Asked whether Germans reflected on the Christmas truce in no-man's land Prince Philip added "I wish it was in the German conscience because it was such a special moment".
