Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given told 5 live Sport there was 鈥渘o clapping or applauding鈥 when Roy Keane left the club.
Talking to Mark Chapman, Jonathan Northcroft and Kevin Kilbane, Given said: 鈥淩oy has a great presence about him and he鈥檚 moved on and in a sense, the club has moved on too. You have, you can鈥檛 stand still.鈥
He added that the team didn鈥檛 see Keane when he left: 鈥淣one of the players really saw him. There was no clapping or applauding. Obviously you read stuff in the papers; sometimes they just write what they want.鈥
Keane left Aston Villa after claiming he wanted to focus on his job as Assistant Manager for the Republic of Ireland.
