NHS worker on why he 'needs to' help fight Ebola

The first wave of NHS medical staff who volunteered to help in the fight against Ebola are leaving for Sierra Leone.

Around 30 GPs nurses, psychiatrists and emergency medicine consultants will fly to the capital Freetown. They鈥檝e already been trained in the UK and after acclimatisation, will be deployed to a number of treatment centres.

Gareth Ross, a paramedic from North Yorkshire, spent some time in West Africa as a child and says he 鈥渘eeds to鈥 get out there to help.
