Flatman on Sterling criticism: Playing through injuries ‘broke' me
Former Bath rugby union player, David Flatman says people should not criticise footballer Raheem Sterling for not playing due to tiredness because playing through injuries put a "massive dent" in own his career.
Flatman argued that money is irrelevant in playing through injury, saying “just because I was only earning five grand a year doesn't mean it's okay for Raheem Sterling to be tired and me not.â€
The ex-England international was earning just £100 a week when he joined Saracens but said forcing himself to play through a broken hand, elbow and numerous other injuries "broke" him.
