In the summer of 1987, the TV epic Ramayan began. The series had Indian audiences gripped and every week more than one hundred million people tuned in.
Deepika Chikhalia played the part of the Hindu Goddess Sita. She spoke to Witness about one of the most popular shows in Indian TV history.
