Invictus Games: JJ Chalmers recalls being blown up
Watch former Royal Marines commando JJ Chalmers recall the day he was blown up by a Taliban bomb in Afghanistan.
The 23-year-old was taking part on a patrol in Helmand Province when the bomb went off, leaving him with severe injuries and killing two of his colleagues, as well as an Afghan interpreter.
Chalmers suffered facial injuries, lost two fingers and his right elbow disintegrated. He will compete in non-amputee cycling for Britain at the Invictus Games.
