Aldous Huxley on the benefits of mind-altering drugs

In 1953 writer Aldous Huxley conducted experiments with mescaline which formed the basis of his ground-breaking book Doors of Perception. He believed that ‘to be shaken out of the ruts of ordinary perception’ was ‘an experience of inestimable value to everyone.’ Especially intellectuals.
