Health tourism: From Nigeria to the UK
A Nigerian mum-to-be blames the British Government for making it easy for her to come and use the NHS free of charge.
Under new government regulations people who fly to the UK to use the NHS are supposed to face tough restrictions.
In a statement issued to by the department of health it said; "People who do not usually live in the UK are classed as an overseas visitor and have to pay for treatment. NHS trusts have a statutory duty to identify chargeable overseas visitors and recover the costs of providing treatment from them."
However that isn't always happening. In this extract 91Èȱ¬ WM’s Chatback speaks to a mum-to-be from Nigeria who has already had one baby here, and says she has not been billed. She's now come back to have her second child on the NHS. In this extract she speaks exclusively to Noel Phillips….
