Former Rugby International, now turned broadcaster, John Beattie tells how his love of sport has been affected by politicians trying to bask in the reflected glory of sporting success. Although he accepts politicians are accountable for the large amounts of public money which gets invested in major sporting events, he wonders if the involvement of politics into sport has now gone too far.
