Hodgson 'disappointed' with Antonio Valencia

England manager Roy Hodgson has defended Raheem Sterling's red card after the winger was sent off against Ecuador.

Hodgson said he believed Sterling's red card was harsh - ''It was a fierce challenge but a very fair challenge''.

The England manager went on to say he was ''disappointed'' with Valencia's reaction to the tackle.
