A new stroke unit opening at Kettering General Hospital is set to improve care for some of the 11,500 people in Northamptonshire who suffer a stroke every year.

A new stroke unit opening at Kettering General Hospital is set to improve care for some of the 11,500 people a year in Northamptonshire who suffer a stroke.

For the first time, all stroke patients, specialist stroke staff and equipment will be on one ward, all under one roof at the hospital.

Outline planning consent has already been granted for a Truck Stop just off junction 3 of the A14 near Rothwell, despite opposition from people in the area, especially the nearby village of Orton. A year on there's still no lorry park, and now the developers are seeking permission to use part of the site to store 36-thousand tonnes of crushed rubble.
