Marking the 20th anniversary of his death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, Rob Bonnet presents a look back at Ayrton Senna's early career in Norfolk, and the years before his world championships with McLaren and his infamous rivalry with Alain Prost.
The Boy From Brazil tells the story of Senna's first years as a racing driver, arriving to live in Norfolk in 1981 and moving up through the ranks from Formula Ford, to his tooth-and-nail battle with King's Lynn's Martin Brundle for the British Formula Three championship, and making his name in Formula One with the last ever victories won by Ketteringham Hall-based Team Lotus. Featuring new interviews with his Formula Ford team bosses, Martin Brundle, and former Lotus mechanics, along with rarely-heard archive commentary from Senna's pre-Formula One days.
