Carlo Ancelloti, would be an “antidote to a tense atmosphere” at Manchester United, Italian football journalist Mina Rzouki has said.

The Italian manager, currently in charge of Real Madrid is one of the favourites to succeed David Moyes.

Mina Rzouki praised Ancelotti’s ability to deal with egos, gain respect and “create a wonderful family atmosphere”.

Ancelotti is contracted until 2016 at Real Madrid and Mina Rxzouki said she doesn’t think the club would let the former player leave:

“There is some negatively there but it is highly unlikely that he’s going to quit, he is there until 2016, I don’t think he will be let go; especially how long it’s taken to get him on board; but the thing is who is going to say no to Manchester United, if he’s approached I’m sure he‘ll consider it, but I think he is already at a big club offering him everything he’s ever wanted in the first place.”

Ms Rzouki also highlighted Ancelotti’s preferences for focusing on coaching over managing, as a possible issue with the appointment:

“The problem with Manchester United and Ancelotti being the perfect match…that he’s not really that interested in managing an entire club from the bottom levels, including scouting, picking out players ,that’s not really his type of thing, he likes having a sporting director, he likes having a CEO who has an opinion and helps him with his job.”
