'Brain drain' threat in Rugby Union
The salary cap in the English Premiership Rugby Union was recently raised to £5m (5.9m euros) per club.
The chairman of Saracens rugby club in London, Nigel Wray told 91Èȱ¬ Extratime that the cap was helpful because it helps puts a lid on costs.
But Mr Wray expressed concern that on an international level, salary caps were higher and some of the most talented players might go elsewhere.
"It is a short-lived profession and actually it is quite wrong that you stop people getting what they are worth," he said.
Mr Wray said that the issue needed to be resolved with the Rugby Union; "We have to have more money to stop a brain drain."
