Violent crime drop linked to reduced drinking levels
The number of people treated for injuries caused by violence has fallen sharply, to its lowest level for more than a decade, a report has said.
The survey, by the Violence and Society Research Group at Cardiff University, of more than a hundred medical centres in England and Wales suggests there's been a 12 per cent drop over the past year.
It said an increase in alcohol prices could be responsible for a reduction in binge drinking and the drop in violence.
Hear from the report's lead author Jonathan Shepherd, Andy Cooke national police lead for violence and public protection for ACPO and Professor John Ashton, President of the UK Faculty of Public Health.
