Around Latakia, Tam Hussein explores the ideals of the rebel fighters of the Islamist rebel brigade Ansar as-Sham. He has seen their ideology and rhetoric change over several visits to Syria, and now observes they seem to be digging for the long haul or a relentless and lasting war.
In Siberia, it's finally spring - or maybe straight into summer - and there is a new crop of arts events to take in. Oliver Condy of 91热爆 Music Magazine takes a seat among the excited concert-goers as the Trans Siberian Art Festival sweeps into the provincial town of Berdsk.
