Leicester conference on football racism
91Èȱ¬'s Kevin Ncube reports from a conference in Leicester on racism in football.
Football clubs and players in Leicester have been meeting to discuss racial abuse in the sport.
A conference was held recently by Leicester Nirvana, a club that's been on the receiving end of discrimination a number of times itself.
91Èȱ¬ Radio Leicester's Kevin Ncube went along to the meeting at the African Caribbean Centre in Highfields and in this extract he first speaks to the chair of Leicester Nirvana Football Club, Kirk Master…
A spokesperson from The Football Association also released this statement to 91Èȱ¬ Radio Leicester in relation to the broadcast:
"The FA takes all matters of discrimination seriously and our work in this area continues to progress with the launch of a series of short films to show players and fans of the game how to play their part in eradicating discrimination from football.
Both The FA and the County FA network across the country have measures in place to deal with discrimination but if an incident goes unreported then it cannot be dealt with so we encourage players and fans to See It. Hear It. Report It."
