Olympic gold medal champion Jessica Ennis Hill said fellow heptathlon athlete Katarina Johnson Thompson is 鈥渞eally capable鈥� of getting a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in summer 2014:

鈥淚 think it is going to be a fantastic championships for her, I think that showing what she鈥檚 showed already so early on in the season, she鈥檚 on absolutely incredible form and she鈥檚 only going to take that into the summer; so I think to Commonwealth Games this year is a great championships for her to show what she鈥檚 got and I think she is really capable of taking the gold medal here.鈥�

Jessica Ennis Hill, who is not taking part in the championships because she is pregnant, said she would 鈥渉ave absolutely loved to have competed鈥� but is 鈥渧ery excited鈥� at becoming a mum and is keeping fit:

鈥淚鈥檝e got my coach and my team around me and they are advising me on what鈥檚 sensible to do and what I can and can鈥檛 do so I am keeping some level of fitness and doing a bit of light running and on the bike and doing what I can to tick over and keep some level of fitness and as healthy as I can.鈥�
