Beth McLeod learns why the Amish way of life is thriving, not merely surviving, in a globalised, 21st-century America; Jonathan Fryer takes an epic train trip from Volgograd to Ashgabat, taking in Russia and three of the former members of the USSR now better known as "the Stans" - Kazakhstan, Izbekistan and Turkmenistan.
