Central Bankers: Can we Bank on Them?

Do central bankers need to be more realistic about what they can achieve, or are we simply asking too much of them?

We assess the role of the central bankers with the top economist George Magnus. He is a senior independent economic adviser at UBS investment bank. We ask him whether we are asking too much of the governors of our central banks? Were they led astray by the promise of forward guidance? Do we now need to be more realistic about what they can actually achieve?

We also hear from Lucy Kellaway of the Financial Times who - very uncharacteristically - has taken to dishing out dieting advice. Plus, we are out on the high seas, hunting the men who illegally gather a rare delicacy along the Galician coast - gooseneck barnacles!
