A survey released today says that 61% of people in this region are unable to save - making us the worst savers in the country.

The poll, commissioned by a bank in conjunction with YouGov, quizzed 1000 adults with salaries below 拢24,000.

And in Northamptonshire, 6 in 10 people said after paying bills and buying food there's simply not enough money left to squirrel away. 7 in 10 are worried about their financial security in the future.

Stuart asked people in Northampton if they are able to save money, while reporter Elinor Cross met pupils at Abbeyfield School in Northampton who are taught about personal finance as part of their key life skills studies. Stuart also talks to Mike Oakley, Manager of the Northamptonshire Credit Union, to Independent Financial Advisor Mark Maryon and to Claire Morrell, Principal at Abbeyfields School.
