Corby "Waste-To-Energy" Plant Set For Approval

Planning permission seems likely to be granted for an "Advanced Conversion Technology" plant on the Willowbrook Industrial Estate just under 1.5 miles from Corby town centre.

Another scheme to turn rubbish into energy is expected to win planning permission from Northamptonshire County Council.

The so-called "Advanced Conversion Technology" plant would be built at Shelton Road on the Willowbrook Industrial Estate just under one and a half miles from the centre of Corby.

Reporter Martin Borley sets out the various similar schemes in the county while reporter Carrol Weston describes the site of the proposed Shelton Road plant.

Stuart talks to Councillor Rob McKellar from Corby Borough Council, to Alan Brooks from Fresh Air Desborough, and to Professor Paul Philips, a professor in waste management at the University of Northampton.
