Kegworth - 25 years on: Barry's Eye Witness Story
Forty seven people died on board the British Midland 737 when it crash landed into the M1 motorway on the edge of the village of Kegworth in north Leicestershire.
Another 74 people were gravely injured.
It was a tragedy which was to radically alter air travel. It led to a number of key improvements to passenger safety which we still benefit from today.

Sunday 8th of January 1989, scores of people were involved in the desperate bid to rescue those trapped inside the plane's mangled wreckage.
Among them was Barry Brigham.
He was heading north up the M1 in a minibus with his colleagues from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution when they spotted the stricken aircraft in the distance...
