Tales of child labour in the 21st century, from South America and Asia. Ben Weisz trundles around Montevideo in a horse-drawn cart with a 'clasificador' - a rubbish collector and recycler - and learns some of the tricks and controversies of his trade. Most urgently, there's heated debate over why some of the city's carts are still being driven by underage operators who ought to be in school. In the "Buddhist jewel" of Luang Prabang, a beautiful town that's a magnet for foreign tourists in Laos, Valerie Kaye attends some English lessons for local children - and ends up learning a great deal about the tougher side of life in the country, especially for girls and ethnic minorities.
