Domestic Abuse Incidents Increase
Figures from Northants Police show the number of incidents of domestic abuse in the county has risen by nearly 30% in the past year.
Figures from Northamptonshire Police show the number of domestic abuse incidents in the county, referred by officers to the Northamptonshire "Sunflower Centre" which offers support to people on the receiving end of domestic abuse has risen by nearly 30% in the past year.
The charity Women's Aid says, on average, 35 assaults happen before the police are called.
Reporter Willy Gilder meets two women from Northamptonshire who have lived with abusive partners. Stuart talks to Wendy Lovell, the Chair of Women's Aid in Northampton, to Stephanie Challis, the manager of Northamptonshire Sunflower Centre, and to Dan Cooper, a solicitor with Northants Family Law.
