University Lecturers Strike Over Pay
University lecturers and staff walk out in a dispute over pay. The strike includes the University of Northampton & is called by the University College Union, UNISON and UNITE.
University lecturers and staff stage a one-day strike in a dispute over pay.
The strike has been called by the University College Union (UCU), UNISON and UNITE and affects about 160 Higher Education Institutions across the country, including the University of Northampton.
Reporter Tom Percival explains how teacher’s pay is calculated and talks to Katherine Fritz, one of those taking action at the University of Northampton. Students in Northampton offer their views, and Stuart talks to Sally Hunt, General Secretary of the University and Colleges Union nationally and to Bob Ansell who represents the Union at the University of Northampton.
