Ben Jackson with local archaeologist Peter Liddle

If you were listening to the show last week you may have heard me out at the village of Hallaton at the sight of an ancient and mysterious chapel. Local archaeologist Peter Liddle and I had been on the way to Great Casterton to talk about the Roman remains there, but on the way stopped off at Hallaton at a dig that could reveal the origins of the Hallaton bottle kicking and hair Pie scramble which has happened at Easter since time immomorial. We caught up there with Vicki Score from the University of Leicester's Archaeology service who has taken time off from work to help the local volunteers dig the site
