Patients First nurse: "There's a tsunami looming in A&E”
Jennie Fecitt, lead nurse with the Patients First pressure group, thinks using locums and agency staff to fill A&E 'staff shortages' can put patients at risk. A 5 live survey suggests that on average A&E hospitals are understaffed by nearly 10%. The 101 out of 166 hospital trusts which responded to a 91ȱ 5 live's Freedom of Information request had 1,260 vacant posts.
