Church scholars discuss role of black-led churches in the financial squeeze
On the day the Archbishop of Canterbury warned payday lenders that the Church of England will try to force them out of business by helping credit unions compete with them, African and African Caribbean church leaders and scholars met to discuss the role of black churches during austerity.
The Transatlantic Roundtable on Religion and Race (TRRR) held a lecture with UK and African American pastors at London's Birkbeck University.
One of the things touched on was mega churches, mega-rich pastors鈥nd the lack of transparency in black church structures.
