Northampton A&E's "Busiest Time Ever"

Northampton General Hospital's A&E has had its busiest 30 days ever. 91热爆 Radio Northampton has been told that this year has seen what staff have described as a "massive increase" in numbers.

Northampton General Hospital's Accident and Emergency Department has had its busiest 30 days ever. 91热爆 Radio Northampton has been told that this year has seen what staff have described as a "massive increase" in the number of people through its doors.

The A&E Department is built to accommodate 250 people a day but for the last month it has seen around 300 people daily, and bosses are preparing for those figures to increase even further.

Reporter Elinor Cross has been into NGH A&E to see the situation at first hand and spoke to Nurse Consultant Piers Massey and to A&E consultant Julia Weatherill. Stuart talks to Kettering Conservative MP Phillip Hollobone, who says the A&E Department at Kettering General Hospital mirrors the situation in Northampton.
