US veterans give their account of the D-Day landings on Omaha Beach in June 1944. Dan Snow explores the fear, terror and carnage that US soldiers faced as they approached the beach and began their bloody attack on the German defences. The attack marked the beginning of the end for the Nazis in occupied France.
