Going the extra mile, for excluded pupils - Northampton
A national inquiry into children's education has found Black Caribbean along with Roma, Gypsy and other minority groups are far more likely to be permanently excluded from school. Black Caribbean pupils were more than three times more likely to face permanent exclusion in 2010/11.
Dr Lorna Cork - an educational consultant, author of Supporting Black Pupils and Parents, and the lead author of The Reach Report, a study commissioned by the government to explore ways of raising the aspirations and achievement of black boys and young black men – gives 91Èȱ¬ Northampton’s Mark Dean an insight into the findings.
