Theft of number plates from cars is up by almost a quarter in the past 12 months, according to figures from Northamptonshire Police.

Number plate "cloning", where criminals fit a car with a duplicate of your vehicle's number plate, is also of concern to the police. Victims often only realise their registration has been stolen when parking fines or speeding tickets turn up in the post.

Bob Scott from Corby (who, by the way, is standing in the County Council elections) tells reporter Elinor Cross that he recently had this happen to him and caller Amanda from Duston tells Stuart that she had a similar experience.

Stuart also talks to Edmund King from the AA and to Laura Jones, Crime Prevention Manager at Northamptonshire Police.
