This Newsreel item shows Ramsgate lit up by 30,000 lights and Battersea funfair glowing in the dark to honour the Festival of Britain and provide an extra special welcome to bank holiday makers.

All along the seafront, the funfair and the gardens, lights and fireworks are enjoyed by holidaymakers who have come from all around to enjoy the Festival of Britain celebrations.
