Severn Valley Railway 3205
British Rail's decision to scrap so many steam engines during their modernisation programme was ironically just the boost the Severn Valley volunteers needed. They were offered the Great Western engine 3205, provided they could raise the deposit and buy the 5 miles of line needed.
