Story of brother and sister Augustus and Gwen John's early life in their birthplace, Tenby - a place that they both hated. The clip includes photos of both as children and contemporary film showing a plaque on the wall of their family home. Self-portraits of both artists, reflecting their different characters are shown from an exhibition at Tenby museum. Presenter Kim Howells highlights one early Gwen John painting Landscape at Tenby with Figures painted at the age of 20 on Tenby beach. He is shown on the beach trying to line up the exact view that she had used when she painted the landscape.
