Emigration from the Scottish Highlands
There was a shortage of good land in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, but land owners were determined to make a living. Land owners introduced sheep farming to bring in a profit for their estates, but this meant that the land鈥檚 previous tenants had to make way for them.
