Scottish Emigration 1830s-1930s
It is thought that today, 90 million people are descendants from Scots who emigrated. Between 1830 and 1930, two million Scots left their home country. Some left willingly to seek opportunity elsewhere, while others felt impelled to leave because of poor prospects if they stayed.
