Why the Anglo-Saxons invaded Britain
The Anglo-Saxons were initially invited to this country to help the rulers fight the Picts, a late Iron Age/ early Medieval people who lived in what is now Eastern and Northern Scotland. The success the Anglo-Saxons experienced during this time encouraged them to settle in greater numbers.
