In a studio theatre is a musical group, consisting of bass, guitar, percussion and three backing singers - accompanying four young people (playing drum pads, a rain stick, a djembe and a gong) and a rapper in a simple rap piece based around counting. As they rap, the backing singers sign the numbers in Makaton. At the end of the rap an animated Widgit symbol for ‘your turn’ appears on-screen. The rap is repeated. During the repeat the words to the rap appear as captions in the bottom of the frame. The camera focuses on the backing singers - encouraging viewers to join in with the rap.
