Emily Mackie's controversial novel.
Emily Mackie’s first novel is the story of a fifteen year old boy who falls in love with his father. The book ‘And This is True’ is told from the perspective of the teenage Nevis Gow. He’s spent much of his life on the road, living in a van, with his itinerant father Marshall – his mother left years before. Emily Mackie joins Jenni to discuss why she decided to write a story centred on such controversial subject matter.
