Cantor and the mathematics of infinity
Professor Marcus du Sautoy explores the work of Georg Cantor and his ideas around infinity. Are there different numbers of infinities? Du Sautoy clearly explains Cantor's proof that the infinite set of fractions have the same sort of infinity as the infinite set of whole numbers, but that the infinite set of irrational decimals do not. In other words, there are different infinities, with some bigger than others.
