After The Games - Putting The Legacy In Place
There's a surge in the number of people taking up sport, and the Prime Minister says he's looking at ways to improve sport in schools. We ask Northants clubs if they're ready.
With the anticipated post-Olympics take up in sport, are the sports clubs of Northamptonshire ready to play their part in the Legacy of London 2012? Stuart talks to Kay Parker from Northampton Taekwando Club, to Grace Lyman from Corby Gymnastics Academy, and to former Northamptonshire cricketer and ex 91热爆 Radio Northampton reporter Tim Lamb who is now Chief Executive of the Sport and Recreation Alliance. Reporter Rebecca Dickson meets Northampton boxer Chantelle Cameron at the Kings Heath Amateur Boxing Club.
The Leader of Northampton Borough Council, Councillor David Mackintosh, was at the closing ceremony of London 2012. Councillor Mackintosh tells Stuart what it was like to be there & Shirley Walterhouse from Northamptonshire tells Stuart about her experience as one of the volunteer workers in the props department for the show.
Olly Taylor from Laser Performance in Long Buckby tells Stuart about supplying one hundred boats for the Laser sailing events at the Olympic Games.
