Light at the end of the tunnel

On 7/7/2005 Matthew Childs was sitting 6 seats away from the bomber on an Edgeware Road tube after having missed his stop. He was badly injured but miraculously survived.

The fact that he had survived was an impetus for change and after a visit to the Chelsea Flower Show in 2007 he knew he wanted to design and build gardens. After retraining he is now a professional garden designer.

His first garden design project was his parents garden where he invited the cameras early in June to talk about his experiences and how he now approaches garden design.

He has designed a conceptual garden at Hampton this year called: 鈥淟ight at the end of the tunnel.鈥 It is an abstract design, which depicts his journey from the 2005 bombing experience to his new life now as a garden designer.
