Queen arrives in Hillsborough
Queen Elizabeth II arrives in the grounds of Hillsborough Castle, her official residence in Northern Ireland, on the first day of her Silver Jubilee visit to NI. Security considerations meant the Queen had to travel by helicopter. At Hillsborough she was greeted by school children and inspected a guard of honour formed by members of the Ulster Defence Regiment. After the inspection the Queen hosted a garden party for several thousand guests, all of whom had been rigorously vetted.
