Louise Mensch, the Conservative MP for Corby calls for more subsidies and tax advantages for local newspapers. Mrs Mensch has called a Parliamentary debate on the issue following the announcement by Johnston Press last week that the Northampton Chronicle and Echo and Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph will both become weeklies from next month.
