The South East Plan sets targets for every council in Kent but it is about to be scrapped and it seems the number of new houses is going to fall. For example 4,700 new homes in Gravesham have disappeared from local plans. Is that a success for local opinion or a disaster? The charity Shelter says nearly 40,000 new homes are needed in the South East every year, but only half that number were built in 2011.

Are house prices being kept artificially high because there is a shortage of new homes? How does that affect your family? Can you afford your own place? In the Medway towns - one of the more affordable parts of the South East the average property is seven times the average salary.

Do you spend most of your income on rent and bills, with no real prospect of saving for your own home? Are Kent houses worth so much money that they are slipping out of the reach of ordinary buyers?

Autism is a life-long disability that affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people. Those with the condition never grow out of it and there is no cure.

On our breakfast programme this morning, we heard from the mother of a severely autistic man who fell to his death after managing to escape from a secure care home. She says it has left her "truly heartbroken".

Is there enough support and help in Kent for adults with the condition and their families?
