The ‘Curry Millionaire’
In between the more modest homes of Sylhet in Bangladesh are the large properties that have come to be known as the ‘Londoni’ mansions; owned by Bangladeshis who have made money after migrating to the UK.
Abdul Muhaimin Miah owns one of them – he initially made his fortune working in the British curry industry with his father but has since moved into development in Bangladesh.
He showed Asian Network’s Catrin Nye around his house in Maulvi Bazar in Sylhet – home to a number of glamorous British owned properties.
Abdul spends around a month a year here and it’s also enjoyed by his extended family.
